He is no stranger to serving his community, let's get to know this week's Rotary Person of Action and Bocce Ball enthusiast JJ Chen...

Dr. Jasper James "JJ" Chen, Rotarian since 2016
Concerned citizen of Cheyenne
Works at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center

Other than Rotary, which community organizations are you involved in? How does that involvement reflect what you most value about Rotary? I am involved in on-going local economic development organizations in Cheyenne, including serving on the Cheyenne/Laramie County Economic Development Joint Powers Board and the Greater Cheyenne Economic Development Steering Committee/”Forward Cheyenne” Initiative. As a Rotarian, the ability for me to make and keep lasting authentic connections with individuals for the betterment of Wyoming, and of Cheyenne in particular, has been paramount.

Why did you join Rotary? To be of greater service to my local community.

What have you found to be most beneficial being a member of Rotary? Meeting all the wonderful Rotarians here!

What is your favorite winter or summer activity and why? Bocce Ball is really fun!

How long have you lived in Wyoming and what do you like most about living here? For four years! Ease of living, safety, affordability.

What is your favorite book (business and/or pleasure)? Ender’s Game. What did you love about it? Imagining I was Andrew Wiggin!
