Riding Bikes, playing softball, and looking for her beach, this week's Person of Action wouldn't exchange it for anything.

Other than Rotary, which community organizations are you involved in? How does that involvement reflect what you most value about Rotary?
I am also involved in my church, Holy Trinity in the Religious Education aspect and in Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher's service organization.  I think it is important to give back to your community and world and these are ways that I can do that.

Why did you join Rotary?
I joined Rotary after my son, Spencer, went on an Exchange to Ecuador in 2013-2014 school year.  I was so impressed with how Rotary handled exchange especially how Rotary makes it affordable for teens to go on exchange and learn a new language and culture.  I really got to know Rotary throughout the process of preparing Spencer to go on his year long exchange, and I became very impressed with the good that Rotary does all over the world.

What advice would you give to a person just joining or considering joining Rotary?
Start on a committee right away, volunteer for events whenever possible and go to meetings as much as possible. Offer to host and exchange student!

What is your favorite winter or summer activity and why?
My favorite summer activity is riding my road bike with my husband.  It has been a challenge since I broke my neck riding 5 years ago, but I still love it.

How long have you lived in Wyoming and what do you like most about living here?
I have been in Wyoming 20 years.  I really love the friendliness of the community and I am thankful for my children's education in Wyoming.

What is your favorite sports team?
Favorite Sports team is the Colorado Rockies.  Ever since I started playing on a women's softball team, baseball has become my favorite sport to watch.  I wish I could smack the ball and catch the ball like they do!!

Tell us about your family?
I am a Colorado native. My husband grew up in Laramie and Cheyenne.  We started out in Denver and when we first met, he said there was no way in ^#!! that he would move back to Cheyenne.  I like to joke that he jinxed us by saying that.   I have two kids, Spencer, 23, and Grace, 20.  We have a large extended family on both my husband and my sides and fortunately, they are all close by in Denver.  I also have two Doodle dogs.  Buddy, our black doodle is half poodle half mutt and Daisy is a Golden Doodle.

What is your favorite Vacation Destination?
Favorite vacation destination:  The Dierk's Bentley song title, "Somewhere on a Beach" says it all.
