Lucie Osborn gifted Paul Harris awards to Hugh Simpson (+2) and Lori Schoene (+8).  Mary Guthrie recieved her PH+5 and Lindi Kirkbride will recieve an award at a future meeting.

Foundation Gives to Non-Profits

The Cheyenne Rotary Club Foundation is proud to announce the distribution of three grants of $10,000 each, supporting organizations that reflect Rotary’s commitment to service, education, and community well‑being.

This year’s grant recipients include:

  • Dream Inspiration – Kenya, advancing clean water, sanitation, and educational opportunities for students and families.
  • LCCC Cheyenne Rotary Club Foundation Scholarship Program, providing financial support to students who have a meaningful connection to Rotary—whether through family, service, or club involvement. Those interested in applying can contact Laramie County Community College directly for eligibility details and application information.
  • Friday Food Bag Foundation, ensuring local children have access to nutritious food over the weekends so they can return to school ready to learn.

Each of these organizations embodies the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self,” and we are honored to support their work and the lives they touch.

Sucessful Food Drive
We had incredible results from this year’s Community Food Drive!  We partnered with Rotary After Hours, Sunrise Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis & Zonta service clubs!
The food drive collected an incredible 7,000 pounds of food (3.5 TONS!), divided between the LCCC Food Pantry and Veterans’ Rock. We also raised $4,000 in monetary donations to further support both the LCCC pantry for students and the Veterans' Rock. $2,500 of the monetary donations came from Southern Power in Birmingham, AL. Two  SP employees who are Rotarians visited our club in July and were so impressed with our club that they asked SP to donate to our food drive.
  • 33 LCCC-connected volunteers helped throughout the day, including 11 students representing Rotaract, PTK, PTA, AI, and STEAM Clubs, as well as faculty and staff: Alex Barker, Dr. Julie Semlak, Trevor Swarm, Steve Jensen, Jill Stringer, Jeanette Morris, Brendon Larsen, Maia Vacks, and Dr. Danielle Ryan .
  • We were also joined by a Central High School Interact Club and their advisor, community members, and some of our youngest helpers ever (2 kiddos, 1 toddler, and even a baby)!
  • Another approximately 44 additional community volunteers joined the effort at the three Grocery Stores, including Carole Boughton at Safeway, who started this wonderful annual tradition.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, hauled, sorted food, and helped make this possible.

Application for Membership

Jim Geringer | National Association of Counties

Jim Geringer has applied for membership in our Rotary Club.  Jim is a former Governor of Wyoming and is sponsored by Scott Meier.

JJ Chen to Present at National Conference

I am pleased to have been selected as a speaker at the 2027 White Coat Investor Physician Wellness & Financial Literacy Conference (WCICON27), taking place February 24–27, 2027, in Orlando, Florida.

My presentation, “Building a Legacy Real Estate Portfolio,” will draw upon my experience as a physician, entrepreneur, and long-term residential real estate investor here in Cheyenne. I will discuss the principles my wife, Dr. Tracie Caller, and I have used to build and operate our residential real estate portfolio, with particular emphasis on disciplined acquisition, financing, long-term ownership, community investment, and building assets that can benefit future generations.

Here is the link for more information:

I am especially proud to represent Cheyenne and Wyoming at a national conference attended by physicians and other professionals from across the country. Many of the values that have shaped our approach to business and investing—service, stewardship, ethical leadership, and strengthening one’s community—also resonate strongly with the principles of Rotary.
