New Member Introduced

Mike Causey is the Executive Director of the Wyoming Board of Parole, and he has served in that capacity since September 2018.

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Mike moved to Wyoming in 1997 to attend Law and Graduate school, and with the exception of one year spent at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law, he has been a Cheyenne resident ever since.

In 2002, Mike graduated from UW with a Law degree and a master’s degree in Public Administration. Since then, much of his career as an attorney has been dedicated to the service of the State of Wyoming, first with the Legislative Service Office, then with the Attorney General’s Office and then as a State Public Defender before joining us at the Wyoming Board of Parole three years ago.

Mike is the proud father of four children.  He resides far south of town where he attempts to enjoy gardening when the weather or the critters permit.   Mike’s hobbies include hunting and fishing, reading and writing (including short stories and poetry), watching movies and occasionally playing video games.

Please welcome Mike to our club.
New RI Endowment Fund Benefactor
Past President Lucie Osborn was recognized as our club's newest Benefactor.  She encouraged other Rotarians to become Benefactors of the Rotary Endowment Fund by naming Rotary as a beneficiary of $1,000 or more in your estate plans or when you donate $1,000 or more to the fund outright. Benefactors receive a certificate and insignia to wear with a Rotary or Paul Harris Fellow pin.  Your generous contributions to The Rotary Foundation are essential to securing and growing Rotary programs throughout the world.
New Member Proposals
We have two new member proposals, one a new member, the second is a transfer from another club:
Our new member proposal is Sarah Dawn Compton, the Executive Director for the Wyoming Congressional Medal Council.  She is sponsored by Scott Van Horn.
Transferring from the Rotary Club of Roseville, CA is Connie Correia, Financial Institution Relationship Manager - Wyoming.  Connie works for Heartland, a Global Payments Company.

October 8, Spike Polo Night at LCCC
On October 8, the LCCC Volleyball team will be hosting Spike Polio Night.  All of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to End Polio Now.  The LCCC Rotaract Club will also have a table to sell “End Polio Now” bracelets.  We will make several PSAs throughout the evening and will have a large check presentation during the match. We hope Rotarians will attend in support.
