Rotary Club of Cheyenne Strategic Plan
In 2010 members of the club met for a visioning exercise and the outgrowth of this activity is this Strategic Plan.
Vision:
Cheyenne Rotarians are respected and admired in their community for living by the Four Way Test and their commitment to local and international service.
Our Defining Statement
The Rotary Club of Cheyenne is a group of community volunteers who practice service above self, locally and internationally. The club offers opportunities in leadership, service and friendship on all levels.
Goals & Action Plan
Club Service
Goals:
Each member knowledgeable about local, district and international projects.
Dynamic website and social media presence.
Action plan:
Convert to Club Runner for website and e-newsletter to increase member education.
Create and maintain fresh website
Develop Rotary 101 and mentoring program for new members
Continue to hold Club social events to promote fellowship like picnic, Christmas spouses’ luncheon, Christmas children’s party, St. Patrick’s Day and St. Valentine’s Day.
Organize and display club banners
Community Service
Goals:
Develop and complete one large multi-year project.
Promote Rotary brand within in the Cheyenne community.
Action plan:
Develop a multi-year project at new Boys & Girls Club facility in South Cheyenne.
Identify and support other long range multi-year project.
Vocational Service
Goals:
Develop employment skills training program, including ethics and placement.
Promote education within the community.
Promote professionalism and ethics in the Cheyenne community
Action plan:
Develop a vocational service project within the high schools.
Develop vocational service project at each junior high school
Continue to recognize student of the month from Laramie County high schools.
Continue to recognize teacher of the month from Cheyenne schools.
International Service
Goals:
Develop international water projects.
Create relationship with developing country for international projects
Action plan:
Continue to support international water projects
Build on international partnership to develop projects beyond water projects
New Generations
Goals:
Promote the ideals of Rotary and the Four Way Test with younger generations while attracting younger members to Rotary.
Action Plan:
Develop one Interact Club in each of the four Cheyenne High Schools, Central, East, South and Triumph.
Grow the number of Cheyenne RYLA students from 5 to 8.
Continue to support the Cheyenne Community Rotaract and LCCC Rotaract Clubs.
Continue to support the youth exchange program with 3 to 4 outbound students and 2 to 3 inbound students annually.
Develop and promote a $5,000 Four Way Test Scholarship.
Public Relations
Goals:
PR Committee promotes club projects within the community and the club
Community beautification project with Rotary symbol
Promote Four Way Test within Club and community
Action plan:
Continue to use NHS Inserts
Utilize Press Releases for Club projects, programs and activities
Utilize Public Service Announcements
Provide each member with 4 Way Test paperweight
Promote 4 Way Test Scholarship in Cheyenne high schools
Storyboard, Rotarian of the Week, Cog, Digital Frame, We Care
Fundraising Activities
Goals:
A large $40,000 / year fundraiser for Club.
Action Plan:
Take over Moonlight Bike Ride as Club Fundraiser
