Joan K. Evans is the Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

She was appointed to this position by Governor Freudenthal in December of

2006. Prior to that, she was the Director of the Carbon County Higher

Education Center in Rawlins, WY. She was also the Asst Business Manager for

Carbon County School District No. 1. She holds a BS in Finance and a Master

degree in adult education from UW. She serves on the Wyoming Workforce

Development Council, President of the Wyoming Lifelong Learning Association;

member of the Advisory Board for Wyoming PBS, the Wyoming Institute for

Disabilities, the Carbon County Economic Development Council and the Wyoming

Government Investment fund Board of Trustees. She was a former member of the

Rawlins Rotary Club. Joan is married with two children and spends her spare

time following and supporting her children in their school activities.
