PRESIDENT LORI’S MONTHLY ROUNDUP
Hello my Rotary family-
Our Rotary family has 202 members and it is incredibly heart warming that you are all inviting others to join our family. THANK YOU!
Our Cranium Cup was a wonderfully fun and exciting event. Of the 23 teams, the Ken Garff Cheyenne team of “Brand Us Champions” took home the coveted Cranium Cup Trophy. Their excitement in winning was fun to watch. Second place went to the “Quiztopher Walk-ons” team sponsored by the Compass Wealth Group. For a second year in a row the Spirit Award went to the Western Visita Credit Union team “The Liabilities.” Their theme was very creative and wow did they bring their spirit. This was a joint fundraising effort between the Rotary Club of Cheyenne and LCCC Rotaract Club with the money raised going to the Cheyenne Rotary Foundation for Rotary Park and the LCCC Rotaract Club. Thank you to Tom Garrison, Robin and Barry Sims, Brent and Denise Lathrop, Carmalee Rose, Carole and Johnny Boughton, Dirk Miller, Bill Gentle, Kevin Harris and the best emcee ever Ron Rabou, who with the LCCC Rotaract Club members worked hard to have a very successful event. And THANK YOU to all those who sponsored a team, donated or bought auction items or contributed to the event.
Speaking of Rotary Park, the Cheyenne Rotary Club Foundation donated 12 acres of future parkland to the City of Cheyenne. The land is located at the northwest corner of Powderhouse Road and Dell Range Boulevard. The park will be named Rotary Park and a park master plan for the site is underway. The master plan will determine what amenities will be built at the park in the future and will include opportunities for public input. THANKYOU to Past President Bob Womack and his wife Karen for the land purchase and to Past Presidents Brent Lathrop and Robin Sims for all the work they have put into this project to date.
Did you know that many of you have RI Foundation Recognition points? RI Foundation Recognition points are awarded to donors who contribute to The Rotary Foundation through the Annual Fund or PolioPlus, or who contribute to sponsorship of a Foundation grant. Donors receive one recognition point for every U.S. dollar contributed to these funds. Donors can transfer Foundation Recognition points to others to help them qualify as a Paul Harris Fellow or Multiple Paul Harris Fellow. Please contact me or PP Lori Schoene to check on your RI Foundation points. You can also go to rotary.org and click My Rotary. Sign-in and then go to My Account—My Donations—Donor History Report—Individual Reports—Donor History Report. The Overview tab will list your PH Fellows, PH Fellow Recognition Amount and Foundation Recognition Points. This report also lists if you are a member of any RI societies. The Transaction Details will show amounts given and when. Please use these points to recognize another Rotarian or Non-Rotarian you would like to gift a PH Fellow to. What is better than earning a PH Fellow? Gifting one. RI is matching donations $2 for every $1 at this time.
